Mission
The Nature Based Therapy Foundation is a registered health promotion charity dedicated to improving holistic mental health and wellbeing through prevention, early intervention, education, and connection with nature.
We believe mental health is more than the absence of illness. It is created through healthy relationships, supportive communities, meaningful purpose, and regular connection with the natural world.
Our mission is to make nature-informed mental health promotion accessible to everyone by delivering community wellbeing programs, counselling, nature connection experiences, retreats, education, social prescribing initiatives, and research that empower people to live healthier, more connected lives.
Working alongside communities, organisations, and partners, we aim to reduce social isolation, strengthen resilience, promote healthy lifestyles, and create opportunities for people of all ages to flourish.

Neighbourly Community Pot Luck Sunday Lunch
Connection • Belonging • Culture Through Food
Join us for a relaxed community potluck lunch created to foster connection, belonging, and neighbourly relationships.
Food has always been a way humans gather, share stories, and care for one another. This gathering invites neighbours and community members to come together around a shared table, bringing a dish that reflects their culture, family traditions, or simply something they enjoy making.
Nature Connect & Care Walks
Nature Connect & Care Walks invite individuals and families to explore the outdoors, immerse themselves in the soothing sounds of birdsong, and engage in meaningful action by collecting rubbish to care for our shared land. Share photos to inspire others.
Nature Based Therapy Wellbeing Program
The Nature-Based Therapy Wellbeing Program is a seasonal guided journey reconnecting individuals, families, and communities to the wisdom of nature.
Participants gather for a 2-hour facilitated session that includes:
- guided reflection using nature-based prompts
- group discussion and shared insights
- exploration of one dimension of wellbeing
- setting a small, practical intention
Between sessions, participants are invited to spend time in nature and gently bring their intention into practice.
